March 25, 2008 - Students Win ION Scholarships at Geomatics Engineering Awards Night
The following students were awarded ION-sponsored scholarships at the Geomatics Engineering Student Awards Night:

- ION Alberta Chapter Bursary (Undergraduate): Lindsay Michael McEachern
- ION Alberta Section Graduate Award: Aiden Morrison
- ION Graduate Award: Chris Goodall and Ahmad Reza Abdolhosseini Moghaddam
- ION National Graduate Award: Cecile Mongredien
April 24, 2007 - Mark Petovello Receives ION Early Achievement Award
Dr. Mark Petovello, a Senior Research Engineer in the PLAN group at the University of Calgary and vice-chair of the ION Alberta Section, has been awarded the ION's Early Achievement Award. The award, presented today at the ION's Annual Awards Banquet in Cambridge, MA, recognizes an individual early in his or her career who has made an outstanding achievement in the art and science of navigation. December 1, 2006 - New Alberta Section Executives Elected
Gerard Lachapelle, Mark Petovello, John Schleppe and Neil Gerein were respectively elected to the positions of chair, vice-chair, treasurer and secretary for the Alberta Section.
